The last time I visited Stonehenge I was about 8, but I had vague memories of it being wet, grey, a stone like visitors' building and my Dad being very impressed with the organisers leaving a bowl of water outside for the dogs. It's been several years since then and after watching Tess of the D'Urbervilles
Just had a quick take-away from the new Vibes Jamaican Kitchen cafe in Duke Street, Chelmsford Essex. Chose the jerk chicken with dumplings and some fried plantain on the side.
The gentleman behind the counter produced a huge meat cleaver and chopped up nearly a half a chicken and gave me this with a huge dumpling, a few bits of plantain and a pot of barbeque sauce.
The chicken was well cooked and full of flavour. I think the barbeque sauce had a lot of Encona Hot Pepper Sauce mixed in as it made me sweat after a while. I can highly recommend this place.
Went to this place Friday night for a few drinks, the place was packed at 6pm and it hasn't been opened very long. It had a pleasant atmosphere and there was a beer garden outside so you could stand by a barrel and have a smoke with a pint.
I have been in here several times in the past by myself, with my Mum and my husband. The food is fresh and I used to enjoy the Knickerbocker Glory's alot. But the price of a big breakfast, for what you get is not as good as Roses and or Checkers. The restaurant is clean and tidy and they have toilets upstairs.
Have just finished some slices of a Meteor Barbecued Stuff Crust pizza with garlic bread from Dominos Pizza. The pizza is meaty with a sweet taste. Ordered in store and waited 10 minutes for it to be ready. Cost £13 something.
Been to the The Alma at 37 Arbour Lane several times, the food, ambiance, service and décor are always of a high standard so much so I even felt comfortable taking the in-laws when they were in town.
