Booked online with Kuoni Travel for 11 nights all inclusive in a 4 star hotel for something like £1100 per person, www.kuoni.co.uk/Mauritius. Stayed in the http://www.silverbeachhotelmauritius.accommodation.io/. Went on a boat trip to swim in a waterfall and then across to a small island where we ate barbequed lobster and prawns washed down drank coke. Our room was done up very nice and the hotel had a nice unpretentious atmosphere. We enjoyed our breakfast, lunches and dinners in the same dining room each day but there was lots of excellent dancers and entertainment. We were also allowed to take bottles of wine (all part of the inclusive deal) back to our room. There were four star hotels up the road which were very luxourious and fashionable, one with a giant tree out the front that had its branches going back into the ground to form part of its trunk and a giant tortoise in the front driveway. Although we went in July and the weather was about 22 degrees....it was warm up until midday and then there was usually cloud cover over the sun making it a bit chilly for a while. We also enjoyed going on trips to see the waterfalls and the 7 sands http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Coloured_Earths and also a zoo where they kept giant tortoises, Macaws www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macaw and other exotic animals.

We also visited a natural well in Cenotes and enjoyed a nice swim. http://www.docancun.com/cenotes.htm
