Very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Room lovely. My husband chose it to start with because of the beer! But the breakfast was lovely and after going out to dinner in Leamington Spa, The Mallory http://www.mallory.co.uk, the day before we still got back in time (11.10pm) to order 2 halves, before bed.

Stayed at www.bwgh.co.uk, Best Western, Grosvenor, Warwick Road, Stratford upon Avon CV37, as The White Swan, Premier Inn and several others were full already. There was a vintage car auction which attracted lots of visitors. Ate dinner at www.theardenhotelsstratford.com and ate off the ala carte menu including 1 bottle of dry Proseco came to circa £60 a head. Enjoyed my Rare Ribeye Medalian steak and Duck starter. We enjoyed receiving a copy of the I newspaper in the morning at Grosvenor and parking for £3 a night.

The Dessert Shop

We stopped in here for a cup of earl grey, sweet potatoe cakes and tomato, lentil and fetta cheese salad (tasted gorgious) and a slice of some lovely chocolate cake. Husband had the chocolate cake, I had the salad. Everything was lovely and husband's eyes popped out of his head at the desserts. They tasted as lovely as they looked and I also got to have a look through the Wiltshire/Salisbury times magazines which had lots of interesting information about places to see and visit.

We picked up a Welcome to Salisbury 2012/13 Tourist Information map from the Tourist Information Centre, Fish Row, Salisbury. Tel: 01722 342860 from the Milford Hall Hotel, the receptionist was very helpful in advising us of places to visit like the market and various clothing shops (there are a lot of good ones like Kew, WhiteStuff, and the Crew Clothing company dotted around, when i say good, selling practical comfortable clothes that look like they will last and at a reasonable price.

Milford Hall Hotel

http://www.milfordhallhotel.com/home. We passed several b&b's on the way up Castle Street and there were plenty to choose from in the town. We hadn't booked anythiing and were planning to drive back home late at night if nothing was available. But virtually all the hotels and b&bs had vacancies, but as it was nearing 9pm we decided the Milford Hall Hotel we passed which had a large customer car park and a 4 star AA rating advertised on the front was worth a try.
