Essex

I have visited The Dog & Gun Country Restaurant‎, Boreham Rd, Great and Little Leighs, Essex CM3
01245 360 211, a few times having first being introduced to it by a now sadly department friend. I have taken relatives here who have been equally as impressed by the excellent menu and pleasant indoor or outdoor seating options.

The portion sizes for the starters, mains and deserts are always reasonable and there is plenty of options on the menu for everyone, my Aunt being a vegetarian for example really enjoyed it.

Have eaten in this restaurant www.pingpongdimsum.com‎ in their branch near Liverpool Street, near Tower Bridge and I think one in Soho. Every time we have thoroughly enjoyed the dim sum and liked the way you can pencil tick your menu options off a checklist at the side of your dinner mat to give to the waiter/waitress to save them writing it down and making service much quicker and more efficient. Wish there was a couple of these restaurants in Chelmsford now as we no longer work in London.

On the way back from Maldon Quay, we also visited Paper Mill Lock cafe for a cup of tea and a hot chocolate, and sat outside along the lock to drink and watch the ducks and boats. Looked at the notice board outside advertising boats and barges for sale from between £4,500 and £66,000 pounds. Pondered buying one, but alas funds are still tight as ever.

We visited http://www.jollysailor.com/ today and enjoyed one fruit beer, one and one shandy (can't remember brand of beer used), one whole tail scampi, peas and chips and one chicken kiev with chips and peas. We ordered our food inside at the bar choosing a table number from outside and sat on table 14 not far for the Quay eating our food and drinking our beer whilst looking at the old sailing barges and surroundings of the quay.
